The Penn Program for Mindfulness offers two kinds of programs for individuals that are new to mindfulness. In addition to the Introductory Workshops and our highly acclaimed 8-week Mindfulness-based Stress Management course we also periodically offer community events and guest speakers.

For nearly two decades the Penn Program has taught mindfulness-based techniques to thousands of people as a way to:

  • Improve mood and energy
  • Increase focus and mental clarity
  • Manage difficult situations and emotions
  • Enhance communication
  • Increase enjoyment and appreciation of life

Two Hour Introductory Workshops

Our two-hour introductory workshops will provide you with an overview of mindfulness and how it could potentially improve your health, happiness and quality of life as you reduce stress.

Mindfulness techniques cultivate steadiness, health and wholeness even during the most difficult moments. With training, you can learn to connect with your inner resources in a simple and satisfying way. In this introductory program you will learn basic mindfulness techniques and explore how these techniques can be used to help you to live a happier and more fulfilling life. When practiced regularly, these techniques can help you to discover a new way of living. Introductory workshops are typically offered several times throughout the year in and around the Philadelphia area and South Jersey. This program is not intended to train individuals in mindfulness, rather it is an overview of what mindfulness is and how it can be used.
