Pulmonary Vascular Disease

Pulmonary vascular diseases affect blood circulation in the lungs, and in more severe cases, the rest of the body. These diseases can cause severe breathlessness and limit your ability to live an active life.

Our pulmonary vascular disease program is one of the first and largest programs of its kind in the United States. Our physicians and nurse practitioners have extensive experience in diagnosing, evaluating and treating pulmonary vascular disease.

Pulmonary vascular disorders include:

  • Pulmonary arterial hypertension
  • Pulmonary hypertension (associated with lung disease and/or hypoxemia)
  • Pulmonary venous hypertension (associated with congestive heart failure or valvular disease)
  • Acute and chronic thromboembolic disease
  • Hepatopulmonary syndrome

Pulmonary vascular disease can be severe and difficult to treat. You may require leading-edge medical treatments, and in some cases, advanced surgical therapies such as a lung transplant. Our team works together across disciplines to offer you individualized treatment and personalized care.
