How Physicians Can Access Penn Dermatopathology and Penn Cutaneous Pathology Services

This is a diagnostic service that provides Penn doctors as well as referring physicians from the Philadelphia region and across the country with state-of-the-art diagnostic and dermatopathology services, including test results within 24 hours from receipt of a biopsy or specimen, in most cases.

The skin, hair, nail and oral pathology laboratory is staffed by board-certified and nationally recognized skin pathologists and an oral pathologist.

How to Refer to Penn Dermatopathology

To refer or send a specimen or biopsy to Penn Cutaneous Pathology Services, your primary care provider or referring physician should call call 215-662-6539 and provide the following information:

Due to confidentiality and other restrictions, they will need to call 215-662-6539 and speak to a Penn dermatopathology service representative in order to obtain or provide patient information.
