Connect your practice with Penn Medicine
Ways to securely exchange patient information with Penn providers.
If your practice has an interoperable electronic health record (EHR) system:
Care Everywhere
Care Everywhere is a tool that provides access to a patient’s electronic medical records from other practices using Epic. Practices using Epic can connect with Penn Medicine providers in Care Everywhere by enabling Care Everywhere Referrals Management.
Carequality
Carequality is an interoperability framework that connects health information networks across the country. If your practice is Carequality-enabled, you may be able to retrieve your patient’s records from Penn Medicine via the Carequality framework within your EHR system. To learn how to participate in Carequality, visit Carequality.org.
Direct messaging (via direct address)
“Direct messaging” allows two practices to exchange patient information through a secure “email-like” address. If your EHR enables direct address, you can message Penn providers by giving us your direct address or requesting a Penn provider's direct address.
Other ways to connect electronically with Penn Medicine:
LGHealth Link
LGHealth Link is Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health’s secure online portal for medical professionals.
If your patient is being treated by LGH providers, you may request an account to communicate with Penn providers and view patient data, including lab and imaging results, procedure reports, allergy-procedure interactions, and billing reports.

- Read LGHealth Link Terms and Conditions
Penn PhysicianLink

Penn Medicine is a member of HealthShare Exchange, the Delaware Valley region's health information exchange (HIE); Central PA Connect Health Information Exchange, South Central PA region’s Health Information Exchange (HIE); and is Carequality-enabled.
Penn plans to participate in Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA).
Electronic summary of care documentation
Penn Medicine no longer faxes multiple page “summary of care” documents to referring providers after a shared patient is seen at a Penn facility.
Practices looking for details on their patient’s care at Penn Medicine can connect with Penn electronically through any of the options above or request medical records.
