At Penn Medicine's Abramson Cancer Center, our Cancer Rehabilitation Program addresses the needs of cancer patients experiencing symptoms as a result of cancer or cancer treatment. These symptoms may include:
Comprehensive and Integrated Care
We offer consultations with a cancer specialist and examination services as well as physical therapy services.
Cancer rehabilitation physicians are doctors who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of the physical effects that may result from cancer and its treatment. These physicians work closely with other cancer specialists to provide you with comprehensive, integrated care.
Our cancer rehabilitation specialists are committed to providing you with the best possible care. All of our therapists are Certified Lymphedema Therapists (CLT) who have attended programs recognized as the most advanced training available. Many of our therapists have further certification through the Lymphology Association of North America (LANA).
Because we understand the personal aspects of dealing with cancer, we also focus on providing you and your family with the support you need throughout your care.
A Valuable Partnership
Physical, occupational, and speech therapy services are provided by Good Shepherd Penn Partners; a partnership between Penn Medicine and the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network. Good Shepherd Penn Partners provides specialized long-term acute care and inpatient and outpatient physical rehabilitation throughout the Philadelphia region.
