Lancaster General Health offers limited volunteer opportunities for college students who are seeking educational experiences. A minimum of 50 hours is required. College students who want to volunteer during the summer must apply by April 30 and be available to attend an orientation session in April or May.
Lancaster General Health is proud to partner with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, Lancaster-Lebanon IU 13, and the Lancaster County Office of Behavioral Health/Developmental Services in Project SEARCH, a workplace immersion program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The goal of the program is to help student graduates secure competitive employment.
Referred to the program through their school districts, students in their last year of high school attend class onsite at our downtown Lancaster location and participate in three unpaid worksite internships. Students have been immersed in 25 departments at LG Health, including the Emergency Department, food services, housekeeping, laboratory, sterile processing, patient transport, laundry, and hospital units.
