Direct-to-employer primary care
Members get on-demand access to a local network of primary care clinics staffed by Penn Medicine. A yearly membership offers quick, convenient medical care for a range of services from preventive checkups to sudden health needs.
Health services with wide-ranging benefits
While bypassing traditional insurance costs is helpful to a company’s financial health, employers care about more than cost savings. Investing in the well-being of your employees by providing easy access to local clinics can promote better long-term health for your workforce, reducing absenteeism and supporting productivity. Keeping health care dollars in the areas where people live and work also helps bring economic value to the people and businesses around you for more vibrant, thriving communities.
Business-based partnership for primary care
Direct-to-employer primary care is a working partnership between local employers and on-site or nearby HealthWorks clinics staffed by Penn Medicine. What makes this health care model different is that membership fees for HealthWorks clinics are paid in part or in full by the business—not by the employee. While your employees get personalized, on-demand care right in their communities, your organization can reduce health care costs by lessening time spent on insurance claims and processes.
Because every company has unique needs for its employees’ health services and primary care locations, we offer flexible approaches to our direct-to-employer programs. We collaborate closely with your business to design the right services that match your budget and meet the health care needs of your workforce.
Expansive services with concierge-style care
HealthWorks clinics handle everything from wellness checks and minor procedures to sick visits and injury evaluations. Our Penn Medicine team offers same-day or next-day appointments, along with on-site access to testing and lab services, often providing immediate results and recommendations. Pre-employment testing, counseling services, flu shots and vaccines, and some prescription medications may also be available at some sites. If specialty services are required outside of the clinic, our staff can quickly refer people for treatment and coordinate their care.
With a low patient-to-provider ratio, employees get attentive and thorough care—30 minutes for a sick visit and up to 90 minutes for an annual wellness visit—all in a comfortable, private setting. Each person is treated for the factors affecting their individual health, while medical teams also evaluate them for any specific health needs of the workforce. Secure apps enable employees to text their providers to share concerns or schedule virtual or on-site appointments, often with quick, same-day responses.
