Children’s areas
- Carter’s Corner, founded by Megan and Todd Brown in memory of their son Carter, is an interactive, child-oriented space where siblings can create crafts for mom and new family members. The supplies and resources in Carter’s Corner are provided by donations and support from the community.
- A Children’s Play Area is off the main lobby, behind the front reception desk. No unattended children, please.
Newborn portraits, flowers, and gifts
- WelcomeNewborn captures beautiful, professional photographs of your family with your new baby, right at your hospital bedside.
- Bellaboo, the popular downtown Lancaster children’s boutique, has a shop right in our lobby, featuring a selection of high-quality toys and apparel for babies, children, and families. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
- Mail, flowers and gifts are delivered to patients’ rooms daily. Mail received after you go home will be forwarded to your home address for 10 days. For patient safety reasons, we do not allow flowers, gift baskets, and balloons in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Because of latex allergies and choking risks, we do not permit latex balloons in the hospital. However, you may have mylar foil balloons anywhere except for the NICU.
Notary services are available to in-house patients for health-related documents only. Make an appointment by calling 717-544-3150 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, Monday through Friday.
We honor the diverse spiritual and cultural needs of our patients, visitors, and employees. Our chaplains are professionally trained to offer emotional and spiritual support to patients and families from all walks of life.
Chaplains are available at any time to listen with compassion and understanding. They help sort through feelings, thoughts and concerns that surface during a hospital stay. Request a chaplain at 717-544-5979 or dial “O” for the hospital operator.
A meditation room is in the lobby and is available 24 hours a day.
