Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital is the region’s only dedicated location for inpatient adult and adolescent behavioral health care. Operated by our partner Universal Health Services, this state-of-the-art facility includes the first and only adolescent behavioral health unit in Lancaster County.
Accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer as a Comprehensive Community Hospital Cancer Program, the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute offers advanced, patient-centered care. We provide:

- Precision medicine treatments, including immunotherapy such as CAR-T therapy, targeted, and genetic therapies
- State-of-the-art proton therapy for tumors located close to critical organs and other areas sensitive to radiation

Our clinicians performed the county’s first open-heart surgery in 1983, and they continue to perform more open-heart procedures than anywhere else in the region. Grounded in a commitment to research and innovation, we provide advanced heart and vascular diagnostics and treatments such as:
- Cardiac ablation, a minimally invasive treatment for heart rhythm disorders
- Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) for aortic stenosis and other minimally invasive structural heart interventions
- The county’s only extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) program for patients with severe cardiogenic shock
- Ventricular assistive devices for advanced heart failure
- Transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR), a minimally invasive procedure to treat carotid disease
The Neuroscience Institute provides full-spectrum neurological care, from diagnosis to treatment and recovery, in convenient locations. We are at the forefront of neurosurgical care, as our neurosurgeons performed the region’s first awake craniotomy in December 2024. Designated by The Joint Commission as the region’s only thrombectomy-capable stroke center, we focus on timely stroke treatment, expert memory care, pain management, and brain and spine treatments.
Our Orthopaedic Center is the region’s leader in elective hip and knee replacements. With dedicated orthopedic operating rooms, inpatient nursing units with specialized staff, and a full physical therapy gym, we provide full-spectrum orthopaedic care. Surgeons, rheumatologists, rehabilitation specialists, physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and allied health professionals work together to bring you excellent outcomes.

Our comprehensive women’s health team provides obstetric and gynecologic care, menopause treatment, surgery, breast care, and infertility treatments. We focus on holistic approaches to help you achieve your health goals. You have 24/7 access to expert specialists, including maternal-fetal medicine providers for high-risk pregnancies. Our 29-bed, Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), staffed by Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia neonatologists, is the most advanced NICU in the region.
