Our programs for a healthy community
Childbirth, breastfeeding, and parenthood are life transitions that can bring excitement and uncertainty. Our programs—frequently hosted in the Beck Family Classroom—equip new and expecting caregivers with evidence-based support to help you feel prepared, informed, and confident as you welcome your new baby.
Our services include:
- Parenting and newborn classes: Our nurse educators teach new and expecting parents how to safely feed, comfort, and care for a new baby. We offer virtual options for easy access and in-person sessions for hands-on learning.
- Childbirth and breastfeeding classes: In-person and virtual classes on childbirth and breastfeeding help you prepare for your new baby’s arrival.
- Car seat safety checks: Our certified technicians provide free car seat safety checks and share important safety information for caregivers.
Our trained educators offer CPR and first aid training to help prepare for emergencies at home, work, or in the community through:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for health care providers and lifeguards
- Heartsaver CPR and first aid certification for community members and those with workplace requirements
We support community members and their loved ones navigating illness, health transitions, or grief with support groups. People with similar lived experiences come together in a safe, supportive environment to talk about:
- Bereavement
- Cancer support
- Diabetes
- Implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICD)
- Infertility
- Insulin pumps
- Parkinson’s disease
- Stroke recovery
- Substance use
Our pediatric care extends beyond hospital walls. Community-based pediatrics services include partnerships with:
- Local school districts
- Youth organizations
- Educational foundations
- Scout troops
- Family literacy programs
- Early childhood educational schools
- Libraries
- Museums
- Community wellness events
