Lymphatic disease care for international patients
Experts in lymphatic health
When your lymphatic system is compromised, it can impact the flow of healthy fluids in your body. Lymphatic fluid buildup in tissues or fluid leaks into the body can weaken your immune system, cause ongoing swelling, and affect your overall well-being.
The Penn Center for Lymphatic Diseases and Lymphedema provides expert diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of lymphatic diseases. As one of the only centers in the U.S. dedicated to lymphatic care, we’re recognized for our excellence in patient care, research, and education. We offer the most advanced diagnostic tools and treatments to identify the cause of your lymphatic disease, treat the condition, and help you feel better.
Collaborative care for a complex condition
It can be challenging to diagnose lymphatic conditions accurately. Disease, surgery, or other conditions may be the root cause of your lymphedema or lymphatic disease, and you need specialists who can pinpoint a diagnosis and develop the best treatment plan.
That’s why we assemble a team of experts from multiple fields, including physiatrists (who specialize in lymphedema care), surgeons, interventional radiologists, and others, who meet weekly to discuss specific cases and create individualized care plans. Through this active collaboration, along with advanced diagnostic tools, we develop a thorough and coordinated view of your condition.
After you’ve received a specific diagnosis, we’ll create the most effective treatment plan for you. We offer a wide range of up-to-date treatments, from minimally invasive interventions to management of chronic conditions. Our research-backed approaches include compression therapy, exercise, and drainage techniques, among others, to help keep you healthy and live more comfortably.
