Community Outreach and Engagement

The mission of the Abramson Cancer Center (ACC) Community Outreach and Engagement is to engage with the catchment area community, understand the cancer burden in the catchment area, ensure that our research programs work to reduce cancer burdens, and disseminate evidence-based interventions and policies in our catchment area and beyond.

The Abramson Cancer Center's commitment to reducing the burden of cancer extends beyond research labs and offices. As our scientists make unprecedented advances in cancer research, with more than 1,000 active research projects and the largest portfolio of cancer clinical trials in the region, our Community Outreach and Engagement leaders and staff work collaboratively with communities to translate scientific discoveries into real-life results.

Our work with community members, health care providers, local leaders, organizations and other stakeholders shapes our understanding of cancer risk factors, cancer disparities and the burden of cancer. This knowledge guides our commitment and inspires us to collaboratively develop research, strategies, programs and policies that increase access to the continuum of cancer care, from prevention to screening, treatment and survivorship, and to reduce the burden of cancer.

We welcome your interest in the Abramson Cancer Center's Community Outreach and Engagement and invite you to help us achieve our mission to understand, prevent, treat and cure cancer in our communities.
