The Most Important Online Quiz You'll Take This Year

Men and women walk round with peripheral artery disease (PAD) without realizing they have it. With signs like aching legs and skin discoloration, PAD can mimic many other conditions.

Diagnosing PAD can be quick, easy and ultimately life saving. Those with PAD have an increased risk for heart and cerebrovascular disease, and left untreated, can have devastating effects. If this isn’t reason enough, here are five more reasons why you should stop what you are doing and take this PAD Risk Assessment.

  1. It takes FIVE MINUTES. In the time it takes you to brush your teeth, you can find out your risk for PAD. And the knowledge you gain from a quick online assessment is priceless.
  2. Atherosclerosis is the common link between PAD and coronary artery disease (CAD). Atherosclerosis, or plaque that narrows the walls of the arteries, can lead to heart attack or stroke. So, knowing your risk for PAD can give insight into risk for CAD.
  3. No one should have constant aching legs. One of the most common symptoms of PAD is leg pain. Treating PAD can be as simple as making lifestyle changes, including increasing your exercise routine. Taking these extra steps can decrease the achiness AND your risk for larger cardiovascular events, too! Win-win.
  4. You could be missing a life-saving warning sign. PAD can be a warning sign that you have a build-up of fatty deposits in your body which can lead to heart disease. While chest pain can be a sign of coronary artery disease, aching legs can be a sign of peripheral artery disease. Often people don’t recognize this as going hand in hand, but they can - and knowing that you have it or are at risk for it is the first step in preventing more serious occurrences.
  5. Of all the quizzes on the internet and social media, take one that’s important! Sure, they all sound fun, but do you really need to know what Game of Thrones character you are most like? Maybe not. Next time, take one that could give you insight into your risk for a health condition that can cause debilitating problems down the road.

Have we convinced you yet? Really, taking our PAD Risk Assessment takes no time at all. See?
