Breast-conserving surgery
Our breast surgeons are nationally recognized for their expertise in mastectomy and breast-conserving surgery. They work together with Penn plastic surgeons who can reconstruct your breast immediately during breast cancer surgery.
Radiation oncology
We offer the full range of radiation options for breast cancer patients, with the goal of limiting radiation to other areas of the body, especially the heart.
Immunotherapy
Immunotherapy for cancer uses medication to activate your own immune system to recognize and destroy cancer cells. When possible, we use immunotherapy drugs called immune checkpoint inhibitors to treat breast cancer.
Targeted therapy
Targeted therapy for cancer blocks the growth of cancer cells by focusing on those genes and proteins while leaving normal cells unharmed. We use targeted therapy to treat many types of breast cancer.
Limiting hair loss
Chemotherapy plays a role in most breast cancer treatment plans. We are proud to offer the PAXMAN Scalp Cooling System , which may reduce hair loss from chemo. This system is available for patients with breast cancer and is the only FDA-approved scalp cooling system.
Clinical Trials
We offer clinical trials through our breast cancer research program. Clinical trials may provide new and promising treatment options that are not available anywhere else.
Leading BRCA-care
The Basser Center for BRCA specializes in treatment, research and prevention of BRCA-related breast cancers. We have board-certified, state licensed Genetic Counselors at locations throughout the region.
