Kirk Wangensteen, MD/PhD's research expertise includes liver biology and genetics. In particular, he is mapping the genetic pathways that enable liver regeneration and cause liver cancer. He has set up innovative in vivo screening systems to elucidate these pathways in a mouse model of liver injury and repopulation.
