About Dr. Deepak Sudheendra

Interventional Radiology (IR) is a subspecialty of radiology that uses the most advanced technology that medicine has to offer to treat the most complex problems. As the pioneers who developed angioplasty, IRs perform minimally invasive procedures, enabling patients to avoid traditional open surgery and allow for a quick recovery.

As an Interventional Radiologist at the University of Pennsylvania, I specialize in peripheral vascular disease and minimally invasive cancer treatments. I have a specific interest in complex venous disease. For those patients affected by the complications of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) known as post thrombotic syndrome (PTS), I have one of the largest practices in the country focusing on PTS with patients traveling from all over the US and abroad. I treat the entire spectrum of venous disease including:

  • May Thurner Syndrome
  • Pelvic congestion syndrome
  • Superfiical venous disease (varicose veins)
  • IVC filter removal
  • Venous ulcers

In addition to vascular disease, I specialize in cutting-edge cancer treatments for primary liver cancer and cancers that have spread to the liver. These procedure include tumor embolization and tumor ablation.

I am extremely active in educating the medical community and the public about venous disease and minimally invasive cancer treatments through my blog

Patient Satisfaction Ratings

Patient Rating Breakdown

The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions shown below from our nationally-recognized Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.

Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score.

Comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Penn Medicine.
