Meet Dr. Lee

I currently serve as Chief of Urology at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and am an Associate Professor of Surgery and Urology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.

I graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine. During my urology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, I became convinced that minimally invasive surgery was the future. Following my residency, I was fortunate to complete an endourology fellowship at UCI Medical Center, where I was part of one of the pioneers of robotic surgery. I started practicing in Texas, where I established the first major robot prostatectomy program in the south-central United States. I joined Penn Medicine to build a robotic program close to my hometown of Reading, PA. During my time at Penn Medicine, I routinely perform more than 400 robotic cases per year and have completed more than 6,000 total robotic cases.

I believe that research is the key to the improvement of surgery and have stayed very active in this area, publishing over 200 articles, abstracts and book chapters in the field of minimally invasive urologic surgery. I am the director of the Penn Robotic Urologic Surgery Fellowship, a Surgeon Champion for the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP), a Cancer Liaison Physician (CLP) for the Cancer Committee and a member of the Abramson Cancer Center. I have also been recognized and featured in Best Doctors in America, Castle Connelly Top Doctors and Top Docs in Philadelphia Magazine.
