Dahlia M. Sataloff, MD, FACS, was appointed thenew chair of the Department of Surgery at Pennsylvania Hospital, effectiveJanuary 1, 2013.
No stranger to PAH, Dr. Sataloff has been amember of the PAH surgical staff since 1985. In 2005, she was named Director ofthe Integrated Breast Center and Vice Chair of the Department of Surgery atPAH. Also a long standing instructor in the Perelman School of Medicine at theUniversity of Pennsylvania, Dr. Sataloff was named a full Clinical Professor ofSurgery in 2006.
Dr. Sataloff has dedicated her practiceexclusively to breast surgery and the treatment and management of benign andmalignant breast diseases. She has lectured extensively on benign breastdiseases, breast cancer detection, treatment and management and is the authorof over thirty scientific papers and three books. The recipient ofmultiple awards, Dr. Sataloff has been consistently recognized as one ofPhiladelphia Magazine’s “Top Docs” for the treatment of breast disease andCastle Connolly’s America’s Top Doctors for Cancer.
Dr. Sataloff graduated with honors from theUniversity of Michigan Medical School and completed her residency in General Surgeryat Pennsylvania Hospital. Board-certified in General Surgery and a Fellowof the American College of Surgeons, she is a member of many professionalsocieties including the American Medical Association, the American Society ofBreast Disease, the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the American Societyof Clinical Oncology, the Society of Surgical Oncology, and theAssociation of Surgical Education, among others. She also serves as peerscientific reviewer for the Archives of Surgery and is a member of the EasternCooperative Oncology Group.
