The central registration team at Penn Medicine Cherry Hill (PMCH) is a great team that works well together. So great, in fact, they received CPUP’s “Team of the Year” Award. To help staff maintain a supportive and compassionate organizational culture, Tracey Commack, PMCH associate director, reached out to Penn Medicine Academy (PMA) to facilitate its StrengthsFinder session.

A core component of PMA’s Focus on People class for managers, the StrengthsFinder online personal assessment identifies an individual’s strengths. Gaining this self-awareness -- and understanding the diverse strength of others – leads to more effective collaboration at all levels, which ultimately can help reduce turnover and improve morale and the organization’s overall performance

“When we focus on strengths, we are more likely to increase productivity and satisfaction in our work. When employees are more engaged with their work, it positively impacts their relationships with colleagues, leaders – the whole team,” said Craig Loundas, associate VP of Penn Medicine Experience.

The group enjoyed the opportunity to engage as a team outside of the hustle and bustle of the central registration desk, and demonstrate gratitude and appreciation for each other on a more personal level. “The PMA team led meaningful discussions and fun activities that helped us reimagine our perspective and refocused our mission,” Commack said
