October’s Penn Medicine Experience (PMX) Week celebrations at Penn Presbyterian provided the opportunity to celebrate our entire healthcare community and honor the accomplishments of our team.
During National Healthcare Supply Chain Week, PPMC recognized the team that stocks and manages the supplies and equipment needed to provide quality patient care. The week put a spotlight on the unique role that the Materials Management department plays as a resource for all of Presby’s clinicians.
During National Physical Therapy Month, Penn Presbyterian and Good Shepherd Penn Partners (GSPP), the official therapy provider of Penn Medicine, celebrated the impact that Penn’s physical therapy staff make in restoring and improving motion in people’s lives.
Penn Medicine University City’s revamped Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center is now seeing patients!
Summertime is known to emergency response teams and hospitals nationwide as “trauma season.” Like clockwork, diving-board concussions and grilling burns abound, and boats, bikes, and lawn mowers become common sources of injury. As August came to a close this year, though, the trauma team at Penn Presbyterian received a call that could be jarring even for staff trained to expect the unexpected.
Fall is the season of gathering and gratitude. During the month of October, Penn Medicine takes time to honor our staff and faculty, to reflect on the important role each member of our team plays in changing the lives of our patients, and to thank them for the dedication they show each and every day.
Between workshops, pet and music therapy sessions, a mobile fun cart, and more, the activities planned for the week have been designed to reward you for the excellent work you have done all year long.
Over the past 22 months, I have had a total hip replacement, four spinal surgeries, and most recently, a total knee replacement. Without exception, everyone I have dealt with – from surgeons, to personnel in admissions, nursing, food services, environmental services, and administration – have consistently been outstanding professionals who have fostered a nurturing and healing environment vital to my recovery.
Join us on Saturday, November 4, at Citizens Bank Park for the family-friendly (and dog-friendly) 5k walk and festival to celebrate the steps towards healthy living. A shorter “Miracle Mile” route option is also available.
Every month, staff members who embody service, teamwork, achievement, and respect, are designated Presby STARs and receive a certificate from Michele Volpe and a $100 award.
On August 10, Penn Medicine leadership, grant recipients, and outreach partners gathered in the sunny Jordan Medical Education Center to celebrate Penn Medicine’s commitment to the community during the 6th Annual CAREs Grant Luncheon.
