Presby Stars

Every month, PPMC staff members who embody Service, Teamwork, Achievement, and Respect, are named Presby STARs. In addition to earning recognition from their colleagues, these outstanding all-stars also receive a certificate from CEO Michele Volpe and a $100 award.

Kim Branch, a patient care associate on the Neuro-Intensive Care unit, is one recent STAR who goes above and beyond to help patients and their loved ones remain as stress-free and comfortable as possible. When Branch discovered that a patient was temporarily “stuck” at PPMC due to issues with their transfer, she personally ran errands to get them the snacks they craved and found a radio so they could pass the time listening to their favorite station.

Presby STAR Angela Burrus, a CNA on the Observation unit, also goes out of her way to make the patient experience the best it can be — rain or shine! When a patient was discharged during a torrential thunderstorm, they expressed concerns about getting to their car safely. Burrus immediately grabbed her personal umbrella and walked the patient to their car herself, determined to ensure that they be treated with the same level of care on their way out of PPMC as they received on their way in.
