According to the American Heart Association (AHA), heart disease strikes someone in the United States about once every 42 seconds, and millions of Americans live with heart disease, stroke, and other cardiovascular conditions. At PPMC, our staff’s commitment to advancing care, improving heart health, and maximizing patient outcomes doesn’t end outside the hospital walls. That’s where the 2017 Philadelphia Heart Walk comes in.
Join us on Saturday, November 4, at Citizens Bank Park for the family-friendly (and dog-friendly) 5k walk and festival to celebrate the steps towards healthy living. A shorter “Miracle Mile” route option is also available. Registration is free, though walkers who raise $100 or more will receive a Philly Heart Walk t-shirt. Penn Medicine’s 2017 goal is to raise $200,000 to support the AHA’s lifesaving research and community programming, and to encourage more employees, patients, friends, and families to participate than ever before. All efforts will directly support Penn Medicine and the AHA’s shared goal of improving the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent by 2020.
