Three hundred ofPresbyterian’s staff and supporters gathered at Vie on Friday, March 15 to celebratethe 12th annual Presby fundraiser. Together with corporate sponsors, PPMC far surpassedits previous fundraising record ($88,000 in 2011) raising over $175,000.
Guests attended intheir vintage best to fit this year’s Mad Men-inspired theme, Mad Party, andenjoyed an evening of glamour, swanky music and classic cocktails reminiscent ofthe 1960s.
The true highlightof the evening was honoring PPMC’sChief of Medicine Jack Ende, MD, with the Hospital Hero Award. Thisannual award recognizes people who make vital contributions to Presby and share the spirit of loyalty andpassion with the broader Health System.A special tribute video helped explain why Dr. Ende is truly PennPresbyterian’s Hospital Hero.
Proceeds from theevent will support the Penn Mesothelioma and Pleural Program. When treatingpatients with mesothelioma or pleural disease, Penn Medicine specialists offermore treatment options than most other health systems across the country andaround the world. Funds raised at this year’s event will make it possible forPenn Presbyterian to continue to provide better outcomes to cancer patients andhelps to give patients access to the most advanced treatment, surgicaltechniques and clinical trials.
