Recently, Penn Medicine joined The Hospital & Healthsystem Associationof Pennsylvania (HAP) Donate Life Hospital Campaign. Sponsored by HAP, thecampaign brings together state partners, local and regional organ procurementorganizations, and hospitals statewide to increase the number of registeredorgan, eye and tissue donors. This campaign goes until August 31, 2013.In the weeks ahead, you’ll be hearing more about Penn Medicine’s participationin this important campaign, so please stay tuned. The Benefits of Saving a Life
Eligible employees may request a Bone Marrow/Organ Donation leave of absencewhen the employee intends to donate bone marrow, stem cells or a major organ toanother person. Eligible employees will be paid regular time. No vacation,personal or sick time will be utilized. Time off will not be counted towardsthe employee’s leave entitlement. The amount of time off granted will be determinedon a case by case basis, depending on the type of donation to be made.
