Shannon Camps and Mark Dillon

After Mark Dillon, BSN, of HUP’s Cardiac Care Unit on Founders 8, was in an accident that resulted in a loss of one of his legs, Shannon Camps, an Employee Relations & Retention specialist in Human Resources, did everything she could to help. But then she took it one step further.

Last year, she ran in the Rock ‘N’ Roll Philadelphia Half-Marathon. “My friend who was supposed to run with me had a stroke so I decided to run the race in her honor … and for all of those who couldn’t. The big thing for me was to finish.” Earlier this year, she gave the medal she received to Mark, encouraging him to keep going and “don’t give up. You have folks who are your champions.”

“I have been blessed to be a part of the HUP family for 23 years. The care and concern shown to me is more than I could have hoped for,” Mark said. “Too many people to mention but Regina Cunningham, Jill Gehman, Patrick Tuffy, Quinn Kostman, Shannon Camps, Chandra Wilson and the entire CCU staff as well as my medical team, Derrick Donegan and Timothy Dillingham. I am privileged to know and work with the most caring group of people possible.”
