Princeton Medical Center (PMC) has earned the Get With The Guidelines®–Heart Failure Bronze Quality Achievement Award, which is granted by the American Heart Association to hospitals that demonstrate a commitment to high-quality care based on the latest scientific evidence.
PMC began participating in the Get With The Guidelines® program for heart failure in late 2019.
The program evaluates hospitals’ performance based on the percentage of patients with heart failure who were:
- Prescribed appropriate medications.
- Given appropriate diagnostic testing.
- Scheduled for a follow-up appointment within 7 days of discharge.
In the third quarter of 2020, PMC qualified for the Bronze Award, signifying it had met or exceeded the quality achievement measures for at least 90 consecutive days but less than one year. The hospital continues to participate with the program, which has been shown to improve clinical outcomes for patients with heart failure.
PMC has been rated high performing in treating heart failure for six years in a row by U.S. News & World Report.
