Surgeon J. Thomas Davidson, MD received the 2019 William P. Burks Physician Philanthropist of the Year Award, which is presented annually by the Princeton Medical Center (PMC) Foundation to a physician on the Princeton Health medical staff whose efforts have furthered the mission of the Foundation as well as other nonprofit organizations.
Davidson, the eighth recipient of the award, is a senior active member of the Department of Surgery at PMC. He is a former member of the Penn Medicine Princeton Health Board of Trustees, having served for 22 years. A long-time generous donor and physician champion, Davidson, along with his wife Sharon, continue to advocate for PMC within the community.
Among the countless roles he played during his longtime commitment to PMC are serving as a member of the Physicians’ Development Committee, which raised funds for the new hospital, and on the committee that plans the PMC Golf Outing, a critical fundraising event every year.
