A major SEPTA Regional Rail reconstruction project is taking place just south of University City from Saturday, August 4 through Sunday, August 19. If you plan on riding the regional rail or driving to get to the Penn Medicine hospitals, please plan accordingly.
The construction work will affect service from 30th Street Station through the Airport, Media/Elwyn and Wilmington/Newark lines–specifically:
- Airport service will operate via buses between 30th Street and the Airport Terminals.
- Wilmington/Newark trains will operate from 30th Street's lower level where Amtrak trains operate.
- Media/Elwyn Line will operate shuttle buses between 49th Street, University City and 30th Street.
If you typically travel through 49th Street, we recommend taking one of the Route 11, 13 or 36 SEPTA trolleys between 49th Street and 30th Street Stations. Trolleys will follow regular routes.
If you typically travel through 30th Street before University City, we recommend walking or taking the Market-Frankford line (Westbound toward 69th Street) to 34th Street. You can also catch the Lucy Gold Loop at 30th Street and JFK Boulevard.
Please avoid driving if you wouldn't normally, as we will likely have severe congestion by additional cars and shuttle buses.
