Penn Medicine surgeons perform the highest volume of breast cancer surgeries in Philadelphia, averaging more than 800 cases annually. If your breast cancer requires complex care, chances are we have seen it — and treated it — before.
We work in conjunction with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, medical geneticists and plastic surgeons to help prevent breast cancer, treat breast cancer and reconstruct your breasts after a mastectomy or lumpectomy. All of us meet weekly to discuss each individual patient and form a consensus about more difficult cases. In addition, we take the time to present research, discuss new publications and analyze data, so the entire team is always on the forefront of cancer care.
While we are part of a large health system, we don't treat patients like a number. Each person receives personalized, specialized and compassionate care through all stages of their treatment.
