The Transgender Patient Advocate Program is part of the Penn Medicine Program for LGBT Health and provides advocacy and support for trans-identified, gender non-conforming and gender queer patients at Penn Medicine.
Transgender patient advocates assist patients in finding appropriate providers, making appointments and ensuring optimal patient care for transgender-identified individuals at Penn Medicine.
All individuals, including those of non-conforming gender identities, are welcomed into this program. We use the word “transgender” or “trans” to refer to anyone identifying along – or outside of – the transgender spectrum.
If you are interested in working with one of our transgender patient advocates, please contact us for more information. Please be aware that the Transgender Patient Advocate Program does not provide or influence medical services, medical advice, financial assistance, transportation, or other support services outside of the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
