Penn Pain Medicine is pleased to welcome Daniel Lavi Southren, MD, MBA, as an assistant professor of clinical anesthesiology and critical care.

Dr. Southren is a graduate of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and completed an MBA at Columbia University. His general surgery internship and anesthesiology residency took place at the University of Michigan Medical School, and was followed by a fellowship in interventional pain medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital.

A specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic pain conditions, Dr. Southren treats neck and back pain, musculoskeletal and joint pain, sports related injury, chronic post-surgical pain, cancer related pain, neuropathic pain, and complex regional pain syndrome.

He will see patients at the Penn Spine Center at Penn Medicine Rittenhouse and Penn Medicine University City.
