Robert G. Maki, MD, Phd, FACP, FASCO, has joined the Penn Medicine Sarcoma Program in the role of Clinical Director.
A medical oncologist, Dr. Maki is a graduate of Cornell University Medical College, and has a PhD in Immunology from Cornell University Graduate School of Medical Sciences. He competed his internship and residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA, and a Fellowship in medical oncology at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, also of that city.
Dr. Maki's expertise embraces the more than 70 types of bone and soft tissue sarcomas, and he is the co-author of a standard text in the latter, Management of Soft Tissue Sarcoma, from Springer Books. In addition, Dr. Maki's many clinical interests include the treatment of desmoid tumors, gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), nerve sheath tumors and other soft tissue tumors.
Board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology, Dr. Maki sees patients at the Abramson Cancer Center.
