Welcome from the Department of Medicine’s Vice Chair of Faculty Development
Welcome to Faculty Development in the Department of Medicine at the Raymond and Ruth Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
Our faculty, individually and collectively, make Penn what it is — a superb place to learn the art and science of medicine, an atmosphere of rich scientific inquiry, and a hub of innovative and outstanding clinical care. The Department’s goals include honoring its remarkable history, upholding the highest level of professionalism, and maintaining its position at the leading edge of scientific discovery, patient care, and education. To achieve these goals, we seek to attract the very best faculty by creating a collegial, intellectually exciting, and supportive environment in which to work. We are committed to recruiting, advancing, and retaining the most diverse and outstanding faculty, and to encouraging and nurturing growth and development.
We are also dedicated to fostering our faculty members’ well-being and engagement, and to helping them find joy in their work. To accomplish these ends, we wish to assist you with career planning and development, to assure appropriate mentorship, and to cultivate opportunities for your personal and professional growth.
