Thank you for your interest in the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program at the University of Pennsylvania! We offer a one year clinical training program in hospice and palliative medicine. Our program is dedicated to training academic hospice and palliative medicine clinicians, and future leaders in the field of hospice and palliative medicine. Fellows receive clinical training at sites throughout the University of Pennsylvania Health System, where they engage with inter-professional teams and an expert group of faculty educators. The diversity and depth of clinical experiences provide an exceptional foundation for providing care to seriously ill patients and their families.
The philosophy of our training program is to provide a strong core curriculum to all fellows. We also work with each fellow to develop an educational experience tailored to an individual’s unique career goals. In addition to providing excellent clinical training, fellows receive close mentoring from dedicated faculty and are encouraged to engage in mentored educational, scholarly, and quality improvement work during their fellowship year. We are also committed to helping fellows develop interests outside of medicine, and have developed a longitudinal wellness and self-care curriculum.
We invite you to explore our website and encourage you to contact us with any questions about the program, or about life in Philadelphia. Applications are accepted through ERAS. We welcome applicants who have trained in a variety of medical and surgical specialties.
Best wishes on your journey!
