Philly Fights Cancer was founded in 2015 and acts as the Abramson Cancer Center’s main fundraising channel, bringing both awareness and funding to the center’s translational research and clinical trials. The Abramson family, consisting of the founding generation, their children, and grandchildren, have committed themselves to spreading the word about the astounding work being done in Philadelphia, and to ensuring that there are continuing efforts to fund the brilliant researchers and clinicians. Philly Fights Cancer has attracted support of major corporations and philanthropists who share the Abramson’s passion and commitment. Philly Fights Cancer is helping to continue the compassionate treatment and the medical innovation that Abramson Cancer Center has become known and internationally recognized for.
Philly Fights Cancer: Round 4 will once again pack a punch on Saturday, November 10th at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. This year’s event will feature a performance by comedy icon Jerry Seinfeld, followed by a concert from internationally acclaimed Grammy-winning pop superstars Maroon 5. In addition to showcasing the talent of our star performers, Philly Fights Cancer will honor extraordinary individuals who are all-stars in their commitment to furthering the fight against cancer specifically in the area of immune therapies, Dr. Carl June, the Richard W. Vague Professor in Immunotherapy and Sean Parker, the Founder and Chairman of the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy.
