A Mission of Medical Education
While patient care is the primary purpose of Penn Medicine at Valley Forge, medical education is also part of the facility's mission.
A portion of the $30 million funding for the facility comes from the Henry P. Erdman Trust, created almost 100 years ago to finance the expansion of University of Pennsylvania programs to the Valley Forge area. Penn Medicine Valley Forge honors the Erdman gift by providing educational opportunities for medical students.
A collaborative primary care program has been developed with the Perelman School of Medicine Department of Family Medicine. Learning opportunities are also available in the various medical specialties represented at Penn Medicine Valley Forge.
