About David I. Lee, MD

David I. Lee, MD, is Chief of the Division of Urology at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Dr. Lee is one of the world's most experienced practitioners of robotic prostatectomy, having performed over 3,000 robotic prostatectomies.


Dr. David I. Lee

Dr. Lee is one of the few urologists in the Philadelphia region who is fellowship-trained in minimally invasive procedures and teaches the technique to urologists across the country.

Dr. Lee earned his medical degree at Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California. He then completed his residency in urology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.

Subsequently, Dr. Lee completed a minimally invasive urology fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, and was a clinical instructor and endourology fellow at the University of California at Irvine, where he helped refine techniques in robotic surgery.

Nationally Recognized for Excellence
Dr. Lee has been nationally recognized as one of the Best Doctors in America. He has also been awarded the Pfizer's Scholar in Urology Award, First Prize in the World Congress of Endourology Essay Contest 2002, and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.

Dr. Lee is a faculty member of numerous teaching courses in minimally invasive surgery. Additionally, he has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters and abstracts.
