Lung Transplant Process

For many people suffering from advanced lung disease, the road to an improved life runs through the Penn Transplant Institute. Patients are evaluated extensively by the lung transplant team and if it is determined a transplant is the best treatment option, they enter into the process of receiving a lung transplant.

The lung transplant team forms a lifelong bond with patients. Patients are followed by the same nurse practitioner and pulmonologist before and after transplant.
