Overview
Education
Penn Transplant Institute is one of busiest transplant centers in the country. As part of an internationally renowned academic medical center, Penn offers advanced educational programs for surgeons, physicians and nurses. Penn Transplant Institute physicians and surgeons are faculty at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Liver and kidney programs are combined with the transplant programs at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Training
The multi-organ transplant surgical training program offered at Penn Transplant Institute is a two-year clinical fellowship, accredited by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS). Additional fellowships are offered in transplant nephrology and transplant hepatology. Penn participates in the National Residency Matching Program.
Research
Clinical research opportunities and additional years for laboratory may be available. The program accepts up to two fellows per year.
