Lung Cancer

There is more hope than ever for lung cancer patients thanks to numerous improvements in diagnosis and treatment, including several surgical advances.

As one of the leading thoracic programs in the nation, our surgeons are experienced in video assisted thoracic surgery as well as surgery performed through muscle sparing thoracotomy incisions, both of which generally offer less pain and earlier recovery periods for our patients.

A Team Approach
By partnering with your oncologist as well as radiation oncologists, nurses and your entire health care team, we can create the treatment program that best serves your needs.

Complex cases are discussed every week with a group of leading specialists in the field, enabling patients to receive the best possible multidisciplinary treatment.

Treatment Designed for You
Treatment could involve any number of procedures, including:

  • complex resections such as sleeve resections and segmentectomies, in which we have broad experience
  • neoadjuvant therapies
  • stents for the treatment of advanced stages of lung cancer

These procedures may be combined pre or post-operatively with chemotherapy and/or radiation depending on your needs.

Our goal is to cure as well as to maintain the quality of life of our patients. With that in mind, our surgeons will work closely with your physicians to tailor a treatment program designed specifically for you.
