Mindfulness in Psychotherapy: Change from Within
Mindfulness and meditation are powerful tools for healing, personal growth and transformation. Originally developed to cultivate spiritual awareness, they have become an important part of modern psychotherapeutic practice. Mindfulness has been utilized in a wide variety of clinical settings. Recent research has highlighted the effectiveness of mindfulness-based psychotherapy, and work in cognitive neuroscience has identified the changes in brain function and structure that are associated with meditation practice. Therapists as well as their clients benefit from the addition of these ancient techniques to modern psychotherapeutic practice.
Please join us for this day-long workshop on mindfulness and its relevance to psychotherapy. Although no prior meditation experience is required, a significant part of the day will be spent in the practice of meditation and the experiential exploration of the potential of mindfulness to transform the practice of psychotherapy and healing.
