This includes 27 hours of formal class time (including one full-day session), a textbook, study manual, and a series of MP3 recordings which can be downloaded from our homework page. Class participants can also purchase back-up CDs of all audio recordings at a cost of $5 per CD. 24.5 APA-approved CE credits are available for an additional $145.
NEW! Continuing Education Programs - The Penn Program for Mindfulness is partnered with HealthForumOnline to provide CE credits for select programs. HealthForumOnline is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Pennsylvania Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors allows APA-approved programs to be used as CE credits for these professionals. HealthForumOnline maintains responsibility for these programs and their content. View our Upcoming Events to learn what CE programs are currently available.
Learning Objectives for CE credits include:
- Describe the experience of a stress reaction.
- Distinguish the cognitive, emotional and somatic components of stress reactivity.
- Be introduced to and practice mindfulness-based stress management techniques, including formal mindfulness meditation techniques and informal ongoing awareness practices.
- Understand how to integrate these techniques into one’s life, including their use:
- To manage professional stress
- To improve listening and communication
- To connect more directly with patients
With proper substantiation, some employers consider the program cost a medically related expense. If you subscribe to a flexible spending benefit through your workplace, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement through your workplace for the program cost. Check with your employer directly to find out if they offer this reimbursement.
If you would like to submit to your health insurance carrier for reimbursement we will be happy to provide you with an invoice; however, most insurers do not cover these services.
Payment Policy
The Penn Program for Mindfulness (PPM) has implemented the following policies to make tuition/class payment understandable and fair. PPM expects participants in its programs to respect and adhere to these policies.
Payment Methods
You may pay by check, money order or credit card. Unfortunately, PPM does not accept American Express.
Final Payment
Your outstanding balance must be paid by the beginning of the first class. If you pay the deposit with a credit card, the balance due will be automatically charged to your credit card on the day of first class, unless you pay another way on the first day of class.
If you prefer to pay your balance due by check, please bring a check with the balance on it to the first class.
Payment Arrangements
PPM may make payment arrangements with registrants you if they you provide demonstrate ample evidence of need for special accommodations. Contact us to discuss how we can accommodate your payment needs.
In general, the payment arrangement will require the registrant to pay the $100 deposit before the class starts and pay half of the remaining balance at the beginning of the class. The second half of the remaining balance must be paid by the fourth week of the program.
Refund Policy
Deposit checks or credit card charges are refundable up until 48 hours prior to commencement of the program. Please note that once classes have begun the program fee is non-refundable.
Failure to Pay
Participants who fail to pay their balances will be asked to leave the program. They may keep the program's materials if they have paid the $100 deposit
