The Rheumatology Division provides diagnosis
and treatment for patients with rheumatic diseases,
including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis,
systemic lupus erythematosus, gout, osteoporosis,
scleroderma, myositis, fibromyalgia, Lyme disease
and related diseases.

Early Arthritis
One of only a handful of clinical centers in the world dedicated to early arthritis
detection and treatment, this program searches for treatable triggering events
such as infections and investigates the biological, pathologic and immunologic
response to arthritis. This evaluation helps predict the most effective treatment
options before the disease progresses to a chronic phase.

Program
Evaluation and treatment is provided for a
wide variety of musculoskeletal and autoimmune
diseases.
Synovial Fluid Laboratory
This laboratory is equipped to examine joint
fluids and tissues at a microscopic and molecular
level for evidence of crystals, infection, and
other factors that may trigger inflammatory disease.

The Division of Rheumatology is a member of the Lupus Clinical Trials Consortium,
a 27 center university member network committed to the facilitation of clinical
