Pulmonary Wellness Center at Pennsylvania Hospital

The Pulmonary Wellness Center at Pennsylvania Hospital works to reverse the physical and psychological aspects of respiratory disease through accurate diagnosis, therapy, emotional support, and education.

We offer a full range of pulmonary rehabilitative services that enable you to actively participate in your care. Our program is tailored to your individual diagnosis and needs. The objectives of the program are to:

  • control and alleviate the symptoms and complications of respiratory impairment
  • educate you on how to resume normal daily activities
  • restore you to the highest possible functional level given your disease process and overall life situation
  • address the psychological and physical aspects of everyday living with respiratory disease through monthly support group meetings

The following conditions are appropriate for pulmonary rehabilitation:

  • Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
    • COPD
    • Asthma
    • Asthmatic bronchitis
    • Chronic bronchitis
    • Emphysema
    • Bronchiectasis
    • Cystic fibrosis
  • Restrictive Pulmonary Disease
    • Interstitial fibrosis
    • Rheumatoid pulmonary disease
    • Collagen vascular disorders
    • Pneumoconioses
    • Sarcoidosis
    • Kyphoscoliosis
    • Severe obesity
    • Poliomyelitis
  • Other Conditions
    • Pulmonary vascular disease
    • Lung resection
    • Occupational or environmental lung diseases
    • Lung reduction surgery
