The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Program
at Pennsylvania Hospital - part of the
University of Pennsylvania Health System - works
to restore function, maximize potential, and
encourage continued wellness while addressing
the physical, psychiatric and environmental aspects
of disability.
You will benefit from a multidisciplinary
approach to treatment that includes a team
of physical, occupational, speech and recreation
therapists; physicians; nurses; and social
workers
who work with patients suffering from orthopaedic,
neuromuscular, sensorimotor, and general medical/surgical
disorders. Our goal is to develop an individualized
therapeutic treatment program for each patient. Our comprehensive services address the following
conditions:
- orthopaedics including services for hip fractures,
joint replacements, and general orthopaedics
- sports
medicine injuries
- neurological disorders including
Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease,
Guillain-Barre, ALS
- amputation
- pulmonary
- congenital deformities
