Penn's dedicated physician-only telephone line offers direct access to a special call center reserved for medical professionals to facilitate patient consults, appointments, referrals, and transfers to Penn Medicine hospitals. The physician-to-physician phone line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Penn Transfer Center
The Penn Transfer Center is a single point of contact for referring physicians and their staff to transfer patients to Penn Medicine from another health care facility. One call provides access to:
- Clinical triage
- Pre-certification
- Bed identification
- Transfer preparations
- Inter-facility transport, including PennSTAR Flight Program
- Regular patient updates

Questions, concerns or feedback about referrals or the referral process can be addressed to the physician liaison program at Penn Medicine. Dedicated to specific service lines, the physician liaisons offer a complete resource and connection to all clinical programs at Penn Medicine for referring physicians and their office staff, as well as coordinate educational programs.

Penn E-lert eICU®
Penn E-lert eICU® is a state-of-the-art electronic intensive care unit that provides an additional layer of expert medical and nursing support for critically ill patients located at:
- Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania
- Penn Presbyterian Medical Center
- Pennsylvania Hospital
In addition, Penn E-lert eICU® also monitors several long-term acute care (LTACH) patients at the Good Shepherd Penn Partners Specialty Hospital at Rittenhouse.
