About Our Team
The PennSTAR team is comprised of many individuals
working together to ensure every flight is safe
and timely. The staff includes:
- physicians
- nurses
- paramedics
- pilots
- mechanics
- communications personnel
PennSTAR is one of a few, select flight programs
in the United States that employs its own medical
command physicians. These physicians assure medical
necessity of flights for on-scene emergencies
and patient transport. They also provide online
and offline medical directives.
PennSTAR medical
command physicians are experienced with flight
operations and represent critical care specialties
including anesthesia, emergency medicine, hyperbaric
medicine, internal medicine and pulmonary critical
care.
