Palliative Care

Palliative Care Fellowship

The hospice and palliative medicine fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine prepares physicians to be specialists in palliative care. The clinical curriculum includes interdisciplinary training in:

  • Hospice home care
  • Inpatient hospice care unit
  • Inpatient palliative care consultation service
  • Long term care
  • Outpatient palliative care clinic
  • Palliative home care

The training also includes:

  • Engagement in quality improvement activities
  • Extensive interaction and activities with faculty and peer mentoring
  • An integrated journal club
  • An inter-professional seminar series
  • Teaching experience

In addition, research activities are available that link fellows with Penn's rich research community.
