History

When Benjamin Franklin, a volunteer, and Dr. Thomas Bond founded Pennsylvania Hospital — the nation's first hospital — in 1751, they adopted the story of the Good Samaritan. Today, Pennsylvania Hospital upholds the same philosophy of caring for those in medical need.
