The Integrated Breast Center
 The Integrated Breast Center at Pennsylvania Hospital, part of the Joan Karnell Cancer Center, provides multidisciplinary breast health care through a spectrum of clinical and support services, specialty physicians, breast surgeons including a dedicated full-time breast surgeon, state-of-the-art imaging and procedures, and psychosocial support. The Joan Karnell Cancer Center has been granted a three year/full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC).
All newly diagnosed cases are reviewed at a weekly breast conference by a multidisciplinary team comprised of:
 breast cancer surgeons- medical oncologists
- radiation oncologists
- pathologists
- radiologists
- oncology nurses
This team discusses the diagnosis and staging of the disease and treatment recommendations for every patient. This approach ensures patients receive the benefit of multiple opinions and team input.
